Resources for next steps

Discussion Models including handouts and sample documents

Controversial Issues Model - For defining issues

Reflecting on work so far

So far we have:
- Created a discussion rubric for use during class
- Shared different lesson plans, including silent discussion and formats for students recording discussions during class.
- Inter-visitations during discussions and student presentations
- Discussed how to scaffold discussion practice within classes

Successes:
- Moral and ethical issues - can be rooted in a specific historical moment but students are able to connect it to their personal experiences leading to fruitful discussions
- How to connect this to less exciting topics?

Goals for next semester:
-A debate - giving students time before the debate to prepare their arguments and information
